Internet Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen enjoyed a marvelous year on the WPT where he was the only one to make it to the closing game in three of the events. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may recall one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker recorded history against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen won a large pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Gus has earned many tv poker appearances and is considered to be one of the greatest bettors in the world. While competing in web poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. He frequently plays in the 200/400 NL max buy in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus more often than not buys in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very weak. He waits patiently for a good hand and then goes all in. I believe Hansen is an excellent poker player but certainly not even close to the everyday players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is bankrupt, he has absolutely no reason to play at the table with the min buy in.

Playing for the minimum takes almost all of the skill out of deep stack poker. Hansen is supposed to be 1 of the greatest players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy in for the full amt.. I believe tv can alter our perception of the real world sometimes. The best poker players anywhere in the world might be guys you have never heard of. Gus can be found betting on web poker on Full Tilt. He generally competes in high stakes omaha/8 and Holdem. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he use his skills in money rounds?
