No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker player on the globe by quite a few of the top pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before his first birthday. His papa taught him one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to learn whatever he could about poker. He routinely told his grandparents that he was planning on being a professional poker player. Phil did not allow the adverse comments from other people destroy his dream of becoming one of the best poker players on the planet.

He started playing seriously after acquiring a false ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his techniques at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for Phil were a teaching experience and winning was not a normal thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he made 2 final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the last table he destroyed a number of the better known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil decided to take his game to the next level and headed out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to hard work and an eternal passion for poker. He says that he is learning every single day and is quite humble about his achievements. He admits to making mistakes every single game of poker and constantly aspires to improve.

Even though Phil has won some big-time tournaments, he prefers destroying cash games on a regular basis.
