No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker contender on the planet by most of the top pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before reaching turning 1. His papa taught Phil penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to discover every little thing he possibly could about poker. Phil routinely told his grandparents that he was going to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t permit the detrimental comments from others annihilate his ambition of becoming one of the greatest poker competitors on the planet.

Phil started competing seriously after getting a false ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his abilities at the casinos in Atlantic City. The initial few years for Phil were a teaching experience and coming away with a win wasn’t a normal outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved 2 final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he defeated many of the better known professionals including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Vegas. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his success to hard work and an immeasurable love for poker. He states that he’s learning every single day and is very humble about his success. He knows he makes errors in each session of poker and constantly aspires to get better.

Despite the fact that Ivey has come first in some big tournaments, he favors winning money games on a regular basis.
