Caribbean Poker Rules and Tips

Poker has become globally acclaimed as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game shows. The games universal appeal, though, arcs back in fact a bit further than its television ratings. Over the years numerous variants on the original poker game have been developed, including some games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these particular games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely resembling blackjack than old guard poker, in that the gamblers wager against the dealer rather than the other players. The winning hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is no concealment or different types of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up just before the dealer announcing "No further bets." At that instance, both you and the house and of course every one of the other players acquire five cards. Once you have looked at your hand and the casino’s initial card, you have to in turn make a call bet or give up. The call bet’s value is on same level to your original wager, which means that the risks will have increased two fold. Abandoning means that your wager goes directly to the house. After the bet comes the face off. If the house doesn’t have ace/king or better, your wager is returned, including an amount on par with the ante. If the dealer has a hand with ace/king or greater, you win if your hand defeats the bank’s hand. The bank pays out money even with your original bet and fixed odds on your call wager. These expectations are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for 2 pairs
  • three to one for three of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
