No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the greatest poker player on the globe by many of the top pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before his first birthday. His papa showed him to penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was hooked on poker and wished to learn every little thing he possibly could about poker. He routinely told his parents that he was going to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t permit the negative comments from other people kill his goal of being one of the greatest poker players in the world.

Phil began playing intently after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his abilities at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for him were a teaching opportunity and winning was not a normal outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made two final tables and won his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the last table he defeated many of the better known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil decided to take his game to the next level and headed out west to Vegas. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Phil credits his success to dedication and a continuing passion for the game of poker. Phil says that he is picking up skills every single day and is quite abashed about his achievements. Phil admits to making mistakes in each game of poker and constantly aspires to get better.

Although Ivey has won some large tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a normal basis.
